Coolers To Your Rescue – Femina

It’s that time of the year when the weather is draining you with heat and the patio or balcony invites you to relax. What better way to enjoy the summers than with a cool and refreshing drink? Enjoy the coldness of lassi in the comfort of your home. All you need this season is something icy and fruity to rejuvenate you. Chef Ranveer Brar’s summer special recipes for Hershey India are sure to cool you down on a hot day. Try them out yourself.
Freak-Shake
Prep time: 15 minutes
Makes: 1

Ingredients
For The Strawberry Shake
3 tbsp strawberry-flavoured syrup
50 ml milk
2 scoops ice cream
For The Garnish
8-10 small marshmallows
5 scoop whipped cream
5-6 gummy bears
1 packet small, colourful chocolates
1 wafer cigar
1 tbsp coloured sprinkles
A few chocolate chips
Method
1 Blend the ice cream, milk and the strawberry syrup in a blender.
2 Pour some strawberry syrup on a plate and dip the rim of a mason jar in it. Immediately dip the rim in a plate with the coloured sprinkles, so they stick to the rim.
3 Pour the blended freak shake into the mason jar.
4 Garnish the freak shake with whipped cream, chocolate chips, gummy bears, marshmallows, coloured chocolates and wafer cigars.
5 Enjoy chilled!
Chocolate Lassi
Prep time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1

Ingredients
1 tbsp chocolate syrup
1 cup ice cubes
200 gm chilled thick yoghurt
A pinch of salt
8-9 sliced and roasted almonds
2 tbsp water
Method
1 Place the ice and yogurt directly into the blender jar. Add a pinch of salt and drizzle the chocolate syrup over it. Add half the sliced roasted almonds and blend it all well. If needed, add the water to adjust the consistency.
2 Pour the lassi into a tall glass and garnish with almonds.
3 Serve chilled.
